I had the best wake-up ever this morning. . .or at least the best since I got to France. Thanks, honey.

Jo, Emily, and other film creatures--I have to watch Nosferatu on Sunday and I can't even go drunk like I did last time--hurray for vitamin water with vodka.

Making French friends is easy. A translated transcript:

Me: Have you seen Donnie Darko?
Her: No, what is it?
Me: It's an example of a surprise film, one that has an unusual structure. It's good. If I find it, do you wanna come over and watch it?
Her: Yeah, that'd be cool. You'll tell me, yeah?
Me: Absolutely. We live in the same neighborhood.

I am exposing the French to Dave Matthews Band, one kid at a time.

I sit down in front of the TV to eat dinner and happen to catch Star Academy, which is like American Idol sorta, but funnier. And the challenge part is on. They have a famous singer come on the show and whoever did the best that week gets to sing with them. And the artist was Shaggy, so I was already laughing thinking about French boys singing a Shaggy song. . .and then they did "It Wasn't Me." I almost choked to death. These guys are singing with their little French accents, and it wwas just too funny. Not to mention all the memories of high school that that song has. . .it was on so many people's driving mixes.
